Mural #5: B. Friedman & E. Kerscher/Circle City Book and Music/2013

This mural was commissioned by Myles Friedman, the owner of Circle City Book and Music. It’s the one that greets people coming into downtown from the north.

 

It was created by Myles's daughter Bailey Friedman and her friend Emily Kerscher.  They received technical assistance and coaching from Michael Brown, the famous Chapel Hill muralist who has done three other murals in Pittsboro. Michael is a friend of Myles.

 

Bailey and Emily learned how to paint a mural and delivered the work in the first six weeks of 2013.  Michael did the detail work in the middle of the Big Fish binding.




The last book in the mural is imaginary and serves as their signature:
