About the event

This fourth Wednesday night of improv features four regional improv actors who will create a show for you in real time based on your suggestions! Steve Scott, Bart Hubbard, Anoo Tree Brod & Jane Allen Wilson.

Steve Scott has been a member of Actors Improv Company (Formerly Transactors) for many years, from 1997-2006 and again from 2014 to now. He also performs as an actor and improviser with other  groups in the Triangle on occasion. He helps run the Clinical Skills Program at the Duke University School of Medicine which utilizes actors and improvisers in supporting medical professionals to communicate more effectively with their patients. Steve says his meditation practice has helped him be more in the moment, which is crucial for improvisers. Namaste.

Bart Hubbard has been performing improv for 10+ years. He enjoys stretching his imagination on stage where he can dance, sing, laugh, and cry. He lives in Durham with his spouse, who is also a talented improvisor, along with their two kitties - Mork & Bean.

Anoo Tree Brod is an award winning actress and speaker who created Wild Mind Improv, a unique approach to transformation that is built in fun, play and connection. She has been a professional improviser for over 20 years performing with Actors Improv Company (formerly Transactors), Danny Canoe Improv as well as many other improv groups. She has taught thousands of students in various settings including corporations, organizations and Universities. People of many backgrounds rave about her ability to help them connect to themselves in new and exciting ways.

Jane Allen Wilson's creative life centers around being in the moment through improv acting, improvised voice/singing, and the beauty of nature (the true improv). She believes improv is a philosophy of living by saying "yes" to being awake with open mind and heart as we co-create our own life stories, responsive to change and connection. She has performed improv for over 20 years,  13 years with Transactors Improv Company, and with local groups Wild Mind Improv, Little Red Backpack, Third Date, performing long & short-form & musical improv. She occasionally sings with improvised experimental music ensembles. She has taught &/or utilized applied improv at UNC Kenan Flagler School of Business, Duke University Medical School & Hospitals, for the Orange County Senior Center (supporting caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s with tools to connect with their impacted family members). She has studied comedy improv for women at festivals in Chicago, healing-based voice & movement improv at the Centre Artistique de Roy Hart in Melarargues, France & under Archipelago Theater directors in Roy Hart technique. She also studied Marin County dancer-healers Anna & Daria Halprin’s use of expressive arts improv for connecting heart, mind, body & spirit for individual and community growth and healing.
