About the event

Singer Songwriter in The Round With Jonathan Byrd and Special Guests Performers: Colin Cutler and Khallori Cosmey

Tickets: Click here

Jonathan Byrd:

Jonathan Byrd is a preacher’s kid, Gulf War veteran, and award-winning songwriter with a near-cult following. With twenty plus years of touring and over a dozen albums, Byrd’s deceptively simple, working-class songs have become campfire standards and crowd favorites for artists like Sam Bush and Tim O’Brien. A Jonathan Byrd show will take audiences on a journey from hell-raising sing-alongs to heart-wrenching ballads and back across the backroads of his native North Carolina.

A lifelong collaborator and innovator, Jonathan Byrd’s latest project is Song Miners, a project to not only write and release new songs, but also to teach others how it’s done. Leading powerful online songwriting workshops and creating free songwriting education for social media, Byrd seems on a mission to fill the world with great songs- not least, his own. Not to be missed.

Colin Cutler:

Colin Cutler is a Greensboro-based singer-songwriter toting a banjo, guitar, and harmonicas, with his musical roots drawing from the breadth of Americana-from Appalachian oldtime to gospel to country to roots rock. He cut his musical.teeth around the Piedmont and Blue Ridge between 2014 and 16, playing with folks like Abigail Dowd, Thomas Kozak, Momma Molasses, and Laura Jane Vincent before the army took him overseas. After he got out, he lived and played in England, and then Romania, opening up for Caroline Spence, Ireland's Kerry Fearon, and Bulgeria's Lilly Drumeva O'Reilly, while placing songs on BBC Introducing and on the British zomvie film Zomblogalypse (out now). 9

He's also opened up.for folks like Ashley Virginia, Momma Molasses, Josh Morningstar, and Kayla Ray.

Since the pandemic brought him.back to North Carolina in 2020, he recorded and released Hot Pepper Jam in July 2021, his third full length album. In the past year he's gotten to play at the NC Folk Festival, the Martha Bassett Show, Greensboro Bound Literary Festival, and quite a few other spots around North Carolina and the Southeast. Hot Pepper Jam has gotten play on public radio and elsewhere. Colin is working on expanding the Peacock Feathers EP into a full album of songs based on Flannery O'Connor's short stories, and is writing a folk opera based on Dante's Inferno.

Khallori Cosmey

Khallori Cosmey is a singer-songwriter trying to emerge from childhood with all her limbs intact. Based locally (ish), Khallori has performed at accredited venues such as Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival, Clapping Hands Farm, and her deeply messy bedroom. With her poetically woven lyrics about the joys and struggles of life and growing up, she connects with listeners of all ages in a profoundly personal way. She has learned from and collaborated with seasoned performers from many different genres and musical backgrounds and has been a powerful songwriting mentor for youth artists for many years. The vivid imagery and vulnerable honesty of Khallori's songs, feels like looking through a window into her world and into our shared human experience. It's the sort of no frills, straightforward music that connects people to the sweet and sour tastes of aging, loving, and growing and tends to leave them with a smile, a laugh, a tear, and sometimes a whole new perspective
