Highway Sign

It's official. We now have our sign on the highway.
Just in time for eradication season. Work on the Robeson Creek Park begins this Saturday, September 26 at 9:00 for all those who attended last year. We are going to invite more people to join us in October.
Volunteers can pick up trash and scrap metal, eradicate invasive grasses, clear privet from the fence--all sorts of fun things to do.
Last year we cleared a couple of acres. Seventy more to go--but this year we are operating under a Memo of Understanding between the Town of Pittsboro and Rewild Within.
The work plan is filed and approved--this year we are going to make considerably more progress. We are grateful for our Mayor and Board of Commissioners for having the vision to protect the trees on the south side of town.
We are also jazzed that the Town has secured the necessary easements and finance to complete the next two greenway segments--which will provide connectivity from Robeson Creek Park all the way to Town Lake Park.
All those Greenway Conversations, and display maps, and tours, and meetings last year are now coming to pass. The weather has broken, the leaves are falling. Time to eradicate in earnest.
And we will do it all with a shiny new sign on the highway...
