Leaning In

Over at the Guild, an apartment complex in Chatham Park behind the Hampton Inn, rises Theresa Arico's larger than life mosaic entitled "Leaning In."

It was created in 2021 and is part of Chatham Park's permanent collection. It's accompanied by a bronze plaque that shares Theresa's inspiration.

Theresa's studio is a magical "compound" of buildings and people and dogs over by Governor's Club on the edge of Chapel Hill.

Visitor's to the place will be smitten by not only her art collection, and the architecture, but by the gardens and plant material which abounds.

You can tell a creator lives there--and has simply been "doing her thing" in the same place for decades.

Theresa is scheduled to install three of her mosaic pieces at the Plant's inaugural Sculpture Celebration on September 20th.

Really thoughtful piece—“leaning in” comes across as both a personal and collective act of growth, which feels very relevant today. It’s interesting how small shifts in perspective can create meaningful change over time. In a way, it reminds me of the flow in space waves—subtle movements that gradually shape a bigger direction.

At the same time, Geometry Dash her upcoming participation in the Plant’s inaugural Sculpture Celebration confirms that her creative influence remains active and relevant, blending a long-standing artistic legacy with continued public engagement.
