Several years ago I began making my own ceramic tiles for unique pieces, including high-fired hand stamped word tiles. I'd been thinking about making this mandala for some time, as I love these sentiments from Rumi. They give us permission to come into our deepest relationship and reverence for this Earth. I made the lotus and buddha tiles for this piece randomly, and only found out the exact number made fit perfectly while assembling it. It was clearly meant to be!
