Sometimes I just start my pieces with a foot, maybe put a shoe on it (or not) and then see where it goes from there. That’s how this piece started and when the little ankle sock appeared it reminded me of the Mary Janes I wore as a child. I realized then I would be spending the next few weeks getting to know a new little girl. She has lots of stories, but mostly she likes to talk about her puppy and what great friends they are.
