Industrial Age Sun by John Flack
Approx. 5' tall.
The large ring is 42" in diameter and the base is 32" diameter. 350 lbs
The large ring is a pre-1890's wrought iron tire rim that weighs 65 lbs. The base is a large 250 lb sprocket salvaged from industrial machinery. The rays of the sun will either be tapered steel round bar stock or 1/8" steel flat bar stock curved and tapered.( Will update you with this detail once I start fabrication) The face of the Sun is composed of various pieces of scrap metal and vintage tools. Created from reclaimed steel, scrap metal and vintage tools, this sculpture represents the power of creativity to transform discarded scrap into something long lasting.
The sun symbolizes life and energy, while the face reflects the craftsmen whose tools shaped our world.
