Installation: Acorn Totem pole is anchored into the ground by re-bar. Re-bar is covered by white PVC pipe to prevent ceramic pieces getting chipped at point of contact. All installation accessories provided by the artist.

Acorn Totem pole
Creating 'Acorn Totem' pole sculpture was a nature driven inspiration. Each acorn and base is wheel thrown using raku clay and altered. The texture on the cap of each acorn and the base is hand crafted.

My thirst to have large pots for my plants motivated my pottery expedition. My unexpected journey with clay started in March of 2015. I had just moved to NC from NJ. Totally ignorant of what I was getting into, walked in and signed up for beginners pottery class at Cary Art Center. Coming from information technology and management background, process involved in clay to come alive intrigued my adventure. As a continuation I enrolled in several ceramics classes by reputed instructors at NC state art center and Seagrove, NC. Soon after started off my own home studio at my Cary residence. My work involves both functional and sculptural pieces and are mostly inspired by nature. I believe each pottery has its unique place both indoors and outdoors dictated by it's user and audience."
