Queen of Flowers

"I was inspired by the farming community in Chatham County. The metal in this piece comes from an old tractor, and I wanted to transform it into an abstract flower. The center of the flower is the tractor wheel, and the top of the flower is the tractor seat. The leaves are made of old fly wheels from cars.

I have lived in Chatham County for nearly 20 years. I started welding as a car mechanic. Several years ago, I began welding scrap metal into outdoor sculptures of flowers, bugs, and animals inspired by my garden. I use metal from oil drums, broken bikes, and old cars-whatever I can find."
